Job Description

Baker Hughes, a GE company has an Account Manager Position open for the Salt Lake City, UT area. In this role the successful candidate will communicate with customer management and direct representative that cover chemical application programs. Also assist with the development of short and long range sales goals. This position is also responsible for developing the personnel assigned to the account for technical and sale development while handling special projects, as assigned.

 Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing refinery chemical business for a specified geographic area
  • Identify and close new sales growth opportunities
  • Provide routine Process and Water chemical support and services
  • Communicate and discuss weekly service reports to customer(s)
  • Manage chemical inventory
    • Examples: Chemical deliveries & transfers, and track usages
  • Perform Job Safety Assessments
  • Interfaces across the internal organization
  • Builds strong relationships with customers
  • Ability to perform routine laboratory analytical testing
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation projects
  • Ability to communicate & document value delivered by BHGE products and services to customers


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or other Technical / Engineering / Science Degree
  • 5 years of experience in chemical sales & working in a refinery
  • Be able to obtain a TWIC card
  • Experienced in providing chemical service for process, boilers, cooling towers, waste water treatment systems, and Finished Fuel Additives
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc…)
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Expertise in sales and marketing
  • Fundamental knowledge of commercial and contract language
  • Must be able to successfully pass Drug & Alcohol Testing Regulations
  • Clean Driving record
